Hapny for baristas
Pre-order only makes sense if it doesn't break work behind the counter. So the barista has a dedicated screen — the order board that shows what to make right now.
The order board
Orders are grouped by state: new, in progress and ready. Each shows the drink contents, the order number and the wait time — how long the guest has already been waiting.
NewPaid orders nobody has picked up yet.
In progressThe barista took the order — the guest sees the preparation status.
ReadyWaiting for pickup. The guest names the code and takes it.
Pickup by code
Every order has a code. At pickup the guest names the code — no calling out names, sorting through similar orders or figuring out whose cup it is. The guest sees the number, code, contents, amount and status in their app.
What changes behind the counter
- The drink spec arrives as text — no need to re-ask over the noise.
- Payment already went through: no cash handling, change or terminal at pickup.
- Peak-hour orders spread out over time instead of piling into one queue.
- You can start with a limited menu — only the items the team is ready to serve by pre-order.
